Food Laws of The Bible
Leviticus 3:17
17 It shall be a perpetual statute for your generations
throughout all your dwellings, that ye eat neither fat nor blood.
Leviticus 7:26-27
26 Moreover ye shall eat no manner of blood, whether it be
of fowl or of beast, in any of your dwellings. 27
Whatsoever soul it be that eateth any manner of blood, even that soul
shall be cut off from his people.
Leviticus 11
1 And the LORD spake unto Moses and to Aaron,
saying unto them, 2 Speak unto the children of Israel,
saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts
that are on the earth. 3 Whatsoever parteth the
hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that
shall ye eat. 4 Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of
them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: as the camel,
because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean
unto you. 5 And the coney, because he cheweth the cud, but
divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you. 6
And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is
unclean unto you. 7 And the swine, though he divide the
hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to
you. 8 Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase
shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you. 9
These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins
and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.
10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and
in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which
is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:
11 They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat
of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination. 12
Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an
abomination unto you. 13 And these are they which
ye shall have in abomination among the fowls; they shall not be eaten, they
are an abomination: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,
14 And the vulture, and the kite after his kind; 15
Every raven after his kind; 16 And the owl, and the night
hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind, 17 And
the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl, 18
And the swan, and the pelican, and the gier eagle, 19 And
the stork, the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat. 20
All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an
abomination unto you. 21 Yet these may ye eat of every
flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above
their feet, to leap withal upon the earth; 22 Even
these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after
his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind.
23 But all other flying creeping things, which have
four feet, shall be an abomination unto you. 24 And
for these ye shall be unclean: whosoever toucheth the carcase of them shall be
unclean until the even. 25 And whosoever beareth ought
of the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.
26 The carcases of every beast which divideth the
hoof, and is not clovenfooted, nor cheweth the cud, are unclean
unto you: every one that toucheth them shall be unclean. 27
And whatsoever goeth upon his paws, among all manner of beasts that go on
all four, those are unclean unto you: whoso toucheth their carcase
shall be unclean until the even. 28 And he that beareth
the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even:
they are unclean unto you. 29 These also shall
be unclean unto you among the creeping things that creep upon the earth;
the weasel, and the mouse, and the tortoise after his kind, 30
And the ferret, and the chameleon, and the lizard, and the snail, and the
mole. 31 These are unclean to you among all that
creep: whosoever doth touch them, when they be dead, shall be unclean until
the even. 32 And upon whatsoever any of them, when
they are dead, doth fall, it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel
of wood, or raiment, or skin, or sack, whatsoever vessel it be, wherein
any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean
until the even; so it shall be cleansed. 33 And every
earthen vessel, whereinto any of them falleth, whatsoever is in
it shall be unclean; and ye shall break it. 34 Of all meat
which may be eaten, that on which such water cometh shall be
unclean: and all drink that may be drunk in every such vessel shall be
unclean. 35 And every thing whereupon any part
of their carcase falleth shall be unclean; whether it be oven, or
ranges for pots, they shall be broken down: for they are
unclean, and shall be unclean unto you. 36 Nevertheless a
fountain or pit, wherein there is plenty of water, shall be clean: but
that which toucheth their carcase shall be unclean. 37
And if any part of their carcase fall upon any sowing seed which is to
be sown, it shall be clean. 38 But if any
water be put upon the seed, and any part of their carcase fall thereon,
it shall be unclean unto you. 39 And if any beast,
of which ye may eat, die; he that toucheth the carcase thereof shall be
unclean until the even. 40 And he that eateth of the
carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: he also
that beareth the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until
the even. 41 And every creeping thing that creepeth upon
the earth shall be an abomination; it shall not be eaten. 42
Whatsoever goeth upon the belly, and whatsoever goeth upon all four,
or whatsoever hath more feet among all creeping things that creep upon the
earth, them ye shall not eat; for they are an abomination. 43
Ye shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creepeth,
neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should be defiled
thereby. 44 For I am the LORD your God: ye shall
therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy:
neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that
creepeth upon the earth. 45 For I am the LORD that
bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore
be holy, for I am holy. 46 This is the law
of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in
the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth: 47
To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast
that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten.
Leviticus 20:24-26
24 But I have said unto you, Ye shall inherit
their land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a land that floweth
with milk and honey: I am the LORD your God, which have separated you
from other people. 25 Ye shall therefore put
difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean fowls and
clean: and ye shall not make your souls abominable by beast, or by fowl, or by
any manner of living thing that creepethon the ground, which I have separated
from you as unclean. 26 And ye shall be holy unto me: for
I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from other people, that
ye should be mine.
Leviticus 26
1 Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image,
neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image
of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.
2 Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary:
I am the LORD. 3 If ye walk in my statutes, and
keep my commandments, and do them; 4 Then I will give you
rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of
the field shall yield their fruit. 5 And your threshing
shall reach unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing
time: and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.
6 And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down,
and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the
land, neither shall the sword go through your land. 7 And
ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.
8 And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of
you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you
by the sword. 9 For I will have respect unto you, and make
you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you.
10 And ye shall eat old store, and bring forth the old because of
the new. 11 And I will set my tabernacle among you: and my
soul shall not abhor you. 12 And I will walk among you,
and will be your God, and ye shall be my people. 13 I
am the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt,
that ye should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke,
and made you go upright. 14 But if ye will not hearken
unto me, and will not do all these commandments; 15 And if
ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye
will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant:
16 I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you
terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and
cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies
shall eat it. 17 And I will set my face against you, and
ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over
you; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you. 18 And if
ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven
times more for your sins. 19 And I will break the pride of
your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass:
20 And your strength shall be spent in vain: for your land
shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their
fruits. 21 And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not
hearken unto me; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to
your sins. 22 I will also send wild beasts among you,
which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you
few in number; and your high ways shall be desolate. 23
And if ye will not be reformed by me by these things, but will walk contrary
unto me; 24 Then will I also walk contrary unto you, and
will punish you yet seven times for your sins. 25 And I
will bring a sword upon you, that shall avenge the quarrel of my
covenant: and when ye are gathered together within your cities, I will send
the pestilence among you; and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the
enemy. 26 And when I have broken the staff of your
bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver
you your bread again by weight: and ye shall eat, and not be satisfied.
27 And if ye will not for all this hearken unto me, but
walk contrary unto me; 28 Then I will walk contrary unto
you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins.
29 And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh
of your daughters shall ye eat. 30 And I will destroy your
high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcases upon the
carcases of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you. 31
And I will make your cities waste, and bring your sanctuaries unto
desolation, and I will not smell the savour of your sweet odours. 32
And I will bring the land into desolation: and your enemies which dwell
therein shall be astonished at it. 33 And I will scatter
you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: and your land
shall be desolate, and your cities waste. 34 Then shall
the land enjoy her sabbaths, as long as it lieth desolate, and ye be in
your enemies land; even then shall the land rest, and enjoy her
sabbaths. 35 As long as it lieth desolate it shall rest;
because it did not rest in your sabbaths, when ye dwelt upon it. 36
And upon them that are left alive of you I will send a faintness into
their hearts in the lands of their enemies; and the sound of a shaken leaf
shall chase them; and they shall flee, as fleeing from a sword; and they shall
fall when none pursueth. 37 And they shall fall one upon
another, as it were before a sword, when none pursueth: and ye shall have no
power to stand before your enemies. 38 And ye shall perish
among the heathen, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up. 39
And they that are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your
enemies lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine
away with them. 40 If they shall confess their iniquity,
and the iniquity of their fathers, with their trespass which they trespassed
against me, and that also they have walked contrary unto me; 41
And that I also have walked contrary unto them, and have brought them
into the land of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised hearts be humbled,
and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity: 42
Then will I remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac,
and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the
land. 43 The land also shall be left of them, and shall
enjoy her sabbaths, while she lieth desolate without them: and they shall
accept of the punishment of their iniquity: because, even because they
despised my judgments, and because their soul abhorred my statutes.
44 And yet for all that, when they be in the land of their enemies,
I will not cast them away, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly,
and to break my covenant with them: for I am the LORD their God.
45 But I will for their sakes remember the covenant of their
ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the
heathen, that I might be their God: I am the LORD. 46
These are the statutes and judgments and laws, which the LORD made
between him and the children of Israel in mount Sinai by the hand of Moses.
Deuteronomy 14
1 Ye are the children of the LORD your
God: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for
the dead. 2 For thou art an holy people unto the
LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto
himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth. 3
Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing. 4 These are
the beasts which ye shall eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat, 5
The hart, and the roebuck, and the fallow deer, and the wild goat, and the
pygarg, and the wild ox, and the chamois. 6 And every
beast that parteth the hoof, and cleaveth the cleft into two claws, and
cheweth the cud among the beasts, that ye shall eat. 7
Nevertheless these ye shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them
that divide the cloven hoof; as the camel, and the hare, and the coney:
for they chew the cud, but divide not the hoof; therefore they are
unclean unto you. 8 And the swine, because it divideth the
hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat
of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase. 9 These ye
shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales
shall ye eat: 10 And whatsoever hath not fins and scales
ye may not eat; it is unclean unto you. 11 Of
all clean birds ye shall eat. 12 But these are they
of which ye shall not eat: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,
13 And the glede, and the kite, and the vulture after his kind,
14 And every raven after his kind, 15
And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his
kind, 16 The little owl, and the great owl, and the swan,
17 And the pelican, and the gier eagle, and the cormorant,
18 And the stork, and the heron after her kind, and the
lapwing, and the bat. 19 And every creeping thing that
flieth is unclean unto you: they shall not be eaten. 20
But of all clean fowls ye may eat. 21 Ye shall not
eat of any thing that dieth of itself: thou shalt give it unto the
stranger that is in thy gates, that he may eat it; or thou mayest sell
it unto an alien: for thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God.
Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mothers milk. 22 Thou
shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth
year by year. 23 And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy
God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of
thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and
of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always.
24 And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not
able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee, which the LORD
thy God shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD thy God hath blessed
thee: 25 Then shalt thou turn it into money, and
bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD
thy God shall choose: 26 And thou shalt bestow that money
for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or
for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat
there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine
household, 27 And the Levite that is within thy
gates; thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no part nor inheritance with
thee. 28 At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth
all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up
within thy gates: 29 And the Levite, (because he hath no
part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the
widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be
satisfied; that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand
which thou doest.
Deuteronomy 28
1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt
hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and
to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy
God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: 2
And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt
hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God. 3 Blessed
shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be
in the field. 4 Blessed shall be the fruit of thy
body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase
of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. 5 Blessed
shall be thy basket and thy store. 6 Blessed shalt
thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be
when thou goest out. 7 The LORD shall cause thine enemies
that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out
against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways. 8
The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all
that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which
the LORD thy God giveth thee. 9 The LORD shall establish
thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt
keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways. 10
And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the
LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee. 11 And the LORD
shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the
fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the
LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee. 12 The LORD
shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy
land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt
lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow. 13 And
the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above
only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the
commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe
and to do them: 14 And thou shalt not go aside from
any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or
to the left, to go after other gods to serve them. 15
But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the
LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I
command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and
overtake thee: 16 Cursed shalt thou be in
the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field. 17
Cursed shall be thy basket and thy store. 18
Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, the
increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. 19
Cursed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and cursed shalt
thou be when thou goest out. 20 The LORD shall send
upon thee cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that thou settest thine hand
unto for to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly;
because of the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me.
21 The LORD shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until he
have consumed thee from off the land, whither thou goest to possess it.
22 The LORD shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a
fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the
sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until
thou perish. 23 And thy heaven that is over thy
head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron.
24 The LORD shall make the rain of thy land powder and
dust: from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
25 The LORD shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies:
thou shalt go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and
shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth. 26
And thy carcase shall be meat unto all fowls of the air, and unto the beasts
of the earth, and no man shall fray them away. 27
The LORD will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and
with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.
28 The LORD shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and
astonishment of heart: 29 And thou shalt grope at noonday,
as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and
thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save
thee. 30 Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another man
shall lie with her: thou shalt build an house, and thou shalt not dwell
therein: thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt not gather the grapes thereof.
31 Thine ox shall be slain before thine eyes, and
thou shalt not eat thereof: thine ass shall be violently taken away
from before thy face, and shall not be restored to thee: thy sheep shall be
given unto thine enemies, and thou shalt have none to rescue them.
32 Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto
another people, and thine eyes shall look, and fail with longing for
them all the day long: and there shall be no might in thine hand.
33 The fruit of thy land, and all thy labours, shall a nation
which thou knowest not eat up; and thou shalt be only oppressed and crushed
alway: 34 So that thou shalt be mad for the sight of thine
eyes which thou shalt see. 35 The LORD shall smite thee in
the knees, and in the legs, with a sore botch that cannot be healed, from the
sole of thy foot unto the top of thy head. 36 The LORD
shall bring thee, and thy king which thou shalt set over thee, unto a nation
which neither thou nor thy fathers have known; and there shalt thou serve
other gods, wood and stone. 37 And thou shalt become an
astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations whither the LORD
shall lead thee. 38 Thou shalt carry much seed out into
the field, and shalt gather but little in; for the locust shall consume
it. 39 Thou shalt plant vineyards, and dress them,
but shalt neither drink of the wine, nor gather the grapes; for
the worms shall eat them. 40 Thou shalt have olive trees
throughout all thy coasts, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with the
oil; for thine olive shall cast his fruit. 41 Thou
shalt beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall
go into captivity. 42 All thy trees and fruit of thy land
shall the locust consume. 43 The stranger that is
within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very
low. 44 He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to
him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail. 45
Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and
overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the
voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he
commanded thee: 46 And they shall be upon thee for a sign
and for a wonder, and upon thy seed for ever. 47 Because
thou servedst not the LORD thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of
heart, for the abundance of all things; 48
Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against
thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things:
and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.
49 The LORD shall bring a nation against thee from far,
from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose
tongue thou shalt not understand; 50 A nation of fierce
countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor shew favour to
the young: 51 And he shall eat the fruit of thy cattle,
and the fruit of thy land, until thou be destroyed: which also shall
not leave thee either corn, wine, or oil, or the increase of thy
kine, or flocks of thy sheep, until he have destroyed thee. 52
And he shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high and fenced walls
come down, wherein thou trustedst, throughout all thy land: and he shall
besiege thee in all thy gates throughout all thy land, which the LORD thy God
hath given thee. 53 And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine
own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, which the LORD thy God
hath given thee, in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies
shall distress thee: 54 So that the man that is
tender among you, and very delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother,
and toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the remnant of his children which
he shall leave: 55 So that he will not give to any of them
of the flesh of his children whom he shall eat: because he hath nothing left
him in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall
distress thee in all thy gates. 56 The tender and delicate
woman among you, which would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon
the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the
husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter, 57
And toward her young one that cometh out from between her feet, and toward
her children which she shall bear: for she shall eat them for want of all
things secretly in the siege and straitness, wherewith thine enemy shall
distress thee in thy gates. 58 If thou wilt not observe
to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou
mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD; 59
Then the LORD will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed,
even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and
of long continuance. 60 Moreover he will bring upon thee
all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave
unto thee. 61 Also every sickness, and every plague, which
is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring upon
thee, until thou be destroyed. 62 And ye shall be left
few in number, whereas ye were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because
thou wouldest not obey the voice of the LORD thy God. 63
And it shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do
you good, and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy
you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land
whither thou goest to possess it. 64 And the LORD shall
scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the
other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy
fathers have known, even wood and stone. 65 And
among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy
foot have rest: but the LORD shall give thee there a trembling heart, and
failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind: 66 And thy life shall
hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have
none assurance of thy life: 67 In the morning thou shalt
say, Would God it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would God it were
morning! for the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the
sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see. 68 And the LORD
shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto
thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your
enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.
Deuteronomy 14:3
3 Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing.
John 14:15
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Yahshua said "if you love me keep my commandments."
Deuteronomy 29:29
29 The secret things belong unto the LORD
our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and
to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
Proverbs 28:9
9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the
law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
Malachi 3:6-18
6 For I am the
LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. 7
Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and
have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith
the LORD of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return? 8
Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed
thee? In tithes and offerings. 9 Ye are cursed with
a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. 10
Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine
house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open
you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall
not be room enough to receive it. 11 And I
will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits
of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the
field, saith the LORD of hosts. 12 And all nations shall
call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of
hosts. 13 Your words have been stout against me, saith the
LORD. Yet ye say, What have we spoken so much against thee? 14
Ye have said, It is vain to serve God: and what profit is it
that we have kept his ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully before
the LORD of hosts? 15 And now we call the proud happy;
yea, they that work wickedness are set up; yea, they that tempt God
are even delivered. 16 Then they that feared the LORD
spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a
book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and
that thought upon his name. 17 And they shall be mine,
saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will
spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.18
Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked,
between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.
Malachi 4
1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn
as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be
stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts,
that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. 2 But
unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing
in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes
under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the
LORD of hosts. 4 Remember ye the law of Moses my servant,
which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes
and judgments. 5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the
prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:
6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and
the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth
with a curse.
Matthew 5:17-19
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets:
I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle
shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of
these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least
in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the
same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Acts 10:10-28
10 And he became very hungry, and would have
eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance, 11
And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had
been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:
12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth,
and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air. 13
And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. 14
But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common
or unclean. 15 And the voice spake unto him again
the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
16 This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up
again into heaven. 17 Now while Peter doubted in himself
what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were
sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simons house, and stood before the
gate, 18 And called, and asked whether Simon, which was
surnamed Peter, were lodged there. 19 While Peter thought
on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.
20 Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them,
doubting nothing: for I have sent them. 21 Then Peter went
down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I
am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come?
22 And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that
feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned
from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words
of thee. 23 Then called he them in, and lodged them.
And on the morrow Peter went away with them, and certain brethren from Joppa
accompanied him. 24 And the morrow after they entered into
Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and had called together his kinsmen
and near friends. 25 And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius
met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him. 26
But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man. 27
And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come
together. 28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is
an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of
another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common
or unclean.
Acts 28:23
23 And when they had appointed him a day, there
came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified
the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of
Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.
If the Old Testament and the Laws were done away with; then
why was Paul teaching them thirty years after the death and resurrection of
Yahshua?
Romans 2:12-13
12 For as many as have sinned without law shall
also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged
by the law; 13 (For not the hearers of the law are
just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
Romans 3:31
31 Do we then make void the law through faith?
God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
11 Thessalonians 2:9-12
9 Even him, whose coming is after the
working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10
And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because
they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should
believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who
believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
1 Timothy 4:1-5
1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the
latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing
spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in
hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 3
Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God
hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know
the truth. 4 For every creature of God is good, and
nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: 5
For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
Hebrews 8:7-10
7 For if that first covenant had been
faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. 8
For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord,
when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of
Judah: 9 Not according to the covenant that I made with
their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the
land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them
not, saith the Lord. 10 For this is the covenant
that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I
will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will
be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
1 John 3:4
4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also
the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
James 2:14
14 What doth it profit, my brethren,
though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
James 2:17-21
17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead,
being alone. 18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith,
and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my
faith by my works. 19 Thou believest that there is one
God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20
But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 21
Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his
son upon the altar?
James 2:26
26 For as the body without the spirit
is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
1 Corinthians 3:16-17
16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God,
and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17 If
any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God
is holy, which temple ye are.
Hebrews 10:26-31
26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have
received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for
sins, 27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and
fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. 28
He that despised Moses law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be
thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted
the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and
hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know
him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense,
saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. 31
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
Romans 16:17-18
17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which
cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned;
and avoid them. 18 For they that are such serve not our
Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches
deceive the hearts of the simple.
Hebrews 13:8-9
8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day,
and for ever. 9 Be not carried about with divers and
strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established
with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been
occupied therein.
I hope that you will begin keeping the food Laws of the
Bible. Praise Yahweh!
