SEX, THE WORLD, & SPIRITUAL STRUGGLE
What is the force of attraction between the sexes? From youth to old-age, one looks with longing at the opposite sex, often feeling powerfully attracted. There is more to this than the mere hormonal instinct of sensual gratification, and people of the white race seem to sense there is a deeper significance, even a spiritual importance to it. Some like to think about a possible "soul-mate," as though one might be reunited with his or her lost "half." Among the true Israelites in America, especially the Scottish immigrants to the Appalachian mountain regions, their Scottish music developed in this country, just as in Scotland, with songs that lament one's lost love. There is a deep grief being expressed, something which they wail about but don't really understand.
Given that the white-race Israel of Europe and America are God's race of Israel, and given that we are the body of Christ which lives forever, we can look at the long-term history and recognize a process whereby we came from the spiritual kingdom of God, down into the world. When we make that transition into "world," one separates from himself the feminine gender nature. I am a man here, missing the feminine gender which I feel I need in order to be complete again. So, I seek a wife to fill that need. When the Genesis creation story tells that the woman was taken from the man's side, it means that the feminine nature was separated from the masculine to live as a uniquely feminine person.
There are some Bible passages which speak about this issue, but the understanding of them is "spiritually discerned," for they are not explicit. In order to understand them we must know the symbolic meanings. "Egypt" is a symbol for "world." To go southward to be among other races (phylistines), or to go "down into Egypt," means to leave the spiritual kingdom and go to the material kingdom. The words, "famine" and "desert" and "wilderness" are symbols for the spiritual kingdom which does not consist of material, worldly "things" like housing, food, storehouses of wheat, material comforts, sensual gratifications, and worldly luxuries.
So, when a Bible character, like Abram, leaves a location because of "famine" to go southward or down to Egypt, that is symbolic of God's son leaving the spiritual state to go to a material world. If you look at the SINE-WAVE diagram, God's children were once living in the spiritual kingdom of "heaven" before they went down into the "world" about 12,000 years ago. They left their spiritual state to live in a material world. In order to do that successfully, a man must separate his feminine half from himself. Before doing that, in the state of spiritual perfection, each of God's children is complete in himself, having both gender natures of masculine and feminine. But, to live in the "world," it is necessary to separate the two. Thus it is that in the world we can propagate and increase the number of children in God's family. In heaven there is no marriage, as Jesus stated; so, in heaven there is no sexual relating nor new births.
Consequently, while we live these earthly lives, we feel a powerful yearning to reclaim the feminine-half which we rejected, and we marry women in attempts to make ourselves complete again. We can make marriages work, and we can find some happiness, but there is always the gnawing ache that we are not really reunited with the perfect half of ourselves, so we look forward to "heaven," hoping that we can have the perfect marriage (union) there.
With that brief synopsis, look at the following Bible passages. The first one is Abram going down to Egypt, denying that Sara is his wife by saying she is his sister, in order that he can survive there. That story is a symbol of what we, as God's sons, have done by coming into the world about 12,000 years ago.
(Gen 12:10 - 13:1)"And there was a famine in the land, and Abram went DOWN TO EGYPT (into the world) to sojourn there, because famine (material lack) prevailed in the land. 11And it came to pass when Abram drew nigh to enter into Egypt, Abram said to Sara his wife (his feminine nature), I know you are a beautiful woman. 12It shall come to pass that when the Egyptians see you, they shall say, 'This is his wife,' and they shall slay me, but they shall save you alive. 13Say, therefore, 'I am his sister (a separate person), that it may be well with me on account of you, and my soul shall live because of you (the world despises those who are spiritually complete units, non-separable & non sex-focused).' 14And it came to pass when Abram (God's man) entered into Egypt (world) and the Egyptians saw his wife, that she was very beautiful (the criteria for earthly physical passion) and 15that the princes of Pharao saw her, and praised her to Pharao, and brought her into the house of Pharao. 16And they treated Abram well on her account, and he had sheep, and calves, and asses, and mules, and camels (world blessings are reward for providing Satan's race with sensual gratification). 17And God afflicted Pharao with great and severe afflictions, and his house (woe is the world's reward for its sacrilege against God's beloved ones), because of Sara, Abram's wife. 18And Pharao called Abram, saying, 'What is this that you have done to me, that you did not tell me that she was your wife. 19Why did you say, 'she is my sister?' And I took her for a wife to myself; and now, look, your wife is before you, take her and go quickly away. 20And Pharao gave charge to men concerning Abram, to join in sending him forward with his wife and all that he had. And Abram went up out of Egypt, he and his wife and all that he had."
More than once did God's Man separate his physical feminine character from his spiritual Whole! (Gen. 20:1-2) "Abraam moved from there to the southern country, and dwelt between Cades and Sur, and sojourned in GERAR. 2And Abraam said concerning Sarrha his wife, 'She is my sister,' for he feared to say, 'She is my wife,' lest at any time the men of the city should kill him for her sake."
Next we have Isaac looking southward to the other races (philistines), wanting to leave the spiritual state (famine) to live in the kingdom of World with other races. God tells Isaac not to do that, and offers a compromise. Instead of Isaac moving into the land of the other races, God will supply a special land where his descendants are not mixed among the others. Gerar was a city south of Palestine, but was a step toward the World, and it would have been better had Isaac not dwelt there for a while. The symbolism is that spiritual Man left his original state, stepped partway toward the World when he was stopped by God and offered a perfect solution. Unfortunately, man rarely yields completely to God's will.
So, another generation of God's Man does the same stunt! (Gen. 26:1- ) "And there was famine in the land, besides the former famine, which was in the time of Abraam; and Isaak went to Abimelech the king of the Phylistines to GERAR. 2And the Lord appeared to him and said, 'Go not down into Egypt, but dwell in the land which I shall tell you of. 3And sojourn in this land; and I will be with you and bless you, for I will give to you and to your seed all this land; and I will establish my oath which I swore to your father Abraam. 4And I will multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens; and I will give to your seed all this land, and all the nations of the earth shall be blest in your seed. 5Because Abraam your father hearkened to My voice, and kept My injunctions, and My commandments, and My ordinances, and My statutes.' 6And Isaak dwelt in Gerar. 7And the men of the place questioned him concerning Rebecca, his wife, and he said, 'she is my sister,' for he feared to say, 'she is my wife,' lest at some time the men of the place should slay him because of Rebecca, because she was beautiful."
In Genesis 45, Jacob's son, Joseph, had been sold by his brothers, and taken to Egypt where he became an important man, second to the Pharao. A famine in the Palestine region caused Joseph's brothers to go down into Egypt for food supplies. The brothers returned home and told their father, Jacob/Israel, about Joseph, and that Israel should go down to Egypt. God then directed Jacob to go down into Egypt for the purpose that his family would develop into a great nation there.
Man's spiritual nature is part of his complete person. Joseph represents the beautifully clothed and favored spiritual nature. The twelve brothers represent the complete person, the whole Christ. Our more earthly natures want to destroy or at least sell out our spiritual nature, as the brothers did to Joseph. Even at that, our spiritual nature is far greater than our earthliness, so even when it is thrown into the world it is capable of excelling and reigning supreme, as Joseph did in Egypt (world). Sometimes in our earthly lives, things can get so tough that we will resort to anything for the sake of survival. People can find many analogous lessons, pertinent to themselves, in the story of Joseph, whose brothers finally come to him (the spiritual) for help. While most of the brothers seem to symbolize earthly facets of our nature, Joseph was the spiritual, and it was to his two sons, Ephraim and Manasse, that God gave the blessing for a distant future. Ephraim's descendants, whose emblem was the bull, would inherit the "isles afar," namely Britain, which still flys the bull on its flag; and Manasse would then become America. The emblems for Manasse when they were in the wilderness, were the olive branches and the arrows, both of which are held in the talons of our American Eagle.
In the next passage, God again compromises, permitting Jacob to go into the world where his family would propagate to become a great nation. God communicates to us information about past history by playing it out through His children in His divine pageant. In our world today, God's race is that of Israel, but at several ancient times of pre-record it appears that God's race has left the spiritual estate and gone into the world. For our own act on God's stage, in the O.T., Israel is advised to go willingly into the world, a place where God would design a new destiny for His people.
(Gen. 46:2-4) "And God spoke to Israel in a night vision, saying, 'Jacob, Jacob;' and he said 'What is it?' 3And He says to him, 'I am the God of your fathers; fear not to go down into EGYPT, for I will make you there a great nation. 4And I will go down with you into Egypt, and I will bring you up at the end."
We know that after four hundred years God did bring them back to the land He had promised them in Palestine, where they could have their blessed spiritual reward in a land of their own, a heaven, where they would live according to His will. And we also know that when His children entered their spiritual kingdom of Palestine, their "promised land," they disobeyed God again and failed to clear the land of all the other races as God ordered: "do not leave alive anything that breathes." (Deut. 20) Other races represent the imperfect and non-spiritual beliefs of God's children, and must be cleared out of our minds and hearts. The history of God's children, from Adam to our own day, is the continuous effort of God to give us a heavenly kingdom. Many of the historical Biblical incidents serve as parables which should teach us about the spiritual and earthly natures which struggle within us. So far, our earthly hungers have over-ruled our spiritual natures, and we grasp mammon instead of God. We devote our lives to material careers, instead of to Him, because we want the "good life" of marriage and family and nice home and cars and toys. We ignore Jesus advice, "do not labor for food." Again, failing to trust our Father, we try to secure our own futures with investments, savings accounts, retirement plans, and insurances, while letting medical doctors take charge of our physical lives. We leave nothing to God! Jesus' entire ministry taught us to reject this world and all its values, along with its sensual and emotional delights. In Matthew 6, Jesus assures us that God will provide what we need. The more content that we become with little, all the more God will entrust us with much - until we become fearful of losing it; then we will lose it. But as long as we value earthly things very little, God will supply us in abundance. While Jesus made this a primary lesson of His ministry, it isn't preached in churches. Rather, people seek out prosperity religions which teach techniques by which to attain prosperity. They call their techniques "spiritual," but the goal of prosperity exposes their religion as worldly.
This article began with discussion of our two genders, the masculine and feminine, and our willingness to separate the feminine out in order to be acceptable to the world races. The male's spiritual mind stands aside while his feminine character gratifies the world's physical desires. God's Adamic race of men are the players on stage through whom God's Spirit acts. Such men possess a type of mind that all other races lack: a spiritual mind - which means that they are empowered and driven by God's Spirit. Actually, they are the vehicles through whom God expresses Himself. The feminine nature was separated out from the masculine in order to connect with and represent the worldly, physical, and material. The only way "she" can regain the spiritual mind is to reunite with the masculine, adopt the spiritual agenda, and become a whole-unit again. It is extremely rare than any wife will genuinely yield to her husbands agenda and be his spiritual helpmeet in our modern world. Satan's enticement to the female is to promise her that she can be "equal" to the male, just as Eve was promised that she could be equal to God if she yielded to Satan's temptation. Today it is called a "woman's liberation" to find her own unique identity as totally separate from the male. She neither trusts nor understands a man because she does not understand how he thinks; he operates from his spiritual mind, while she from her rational pragmatic mind. Consequently, she can hardly yield to him as captain of her fate, but she demands equal authority to direct the ship towards a goal which is acceptable to her. Ironically, her only salvation would be to yield to her husband, to reunite herself with him and share his goal, even though it might be unworldly and unreasonable to her. She cannot have the spiritual mind without him because she was separated from his physical side; she needs him in order to become whole. That is to say that the world cannot have God's spiritual nature unless it yields its physical nature to value the spiritual in its place. Satan's work is to entice God's children to value his kingdom of world with all its material things above any spiritual values. We members of Christ, though, are stimulated by God's Spirit to despise this kingdom of world and to live in hope for the kingdom of God to come. While we struggle with the conflicts between these two kingdoms, many will sadly fail. "Many are called but few are chosen." And worse, if we look for those rare few which find a feminine and masculine reunion in harmony, we must nearly despair of how terribly few might ultimately be chosen.
Men, with their spiritual minds clouded by this physical world, can hardly help their wives to understand the truth. Actually, men dare not even consider the so-called "chauvinist" attitude of this article. Women feel despised if they dare think such a thought as to let their husband be the Captain of their ship while she devotes her enthusiasm to being his first-officer helpmeet. That isn't politically-correct in our modern society which tries to place women in nearly every executive position, over the men. Men who complain or attempt to demand leadership authority are divorced and despised.
At the end of this discussion, I know how politically incorrect I am. For anyone to wishes to understand this further, I suggest you read my article about the "FOUR MINDS." And I would like to share with you a brief quotation from the Gospel of Thomas, written by Jesus' brother, Judas Thomas, and discovered among the Nag Hammadi writings in 1945. At the end of this wonderful collection of Jesus' sayings, in verse 114, "Simon Peter said to them, 'Mary should leave us, for females are not worthy of life.' " Jesus said, "Look, I shall guide her to make her male, so that she too may become a living spirit like you males. For every female who makes herself male will enter heaven's kingdom." This passage might help one to understand why the Bible, from beginning to end, focuses upon the men and usually neglects to even give the names of wives or women. They were created as helpmeets, and their only salvation is to unite with a male by yielding to his agenda and his spiritual goal, which hopefully is toward his Father, his source, his God. In that way each of them, both of them, can reach the ultimate goal of their spiritual destiny. All of our ancestral patriarchs were married. The truth is inescapable that without her, he is incomplete and frustrated on his spiritual path, while she is impossibly focused on material success and wealth. That last sentence needs to be qualified slightly because there are occasionally men who realize and express their feminine natures alongside their dominant spiritual natures without becoming worldly. Jesus was complete. And, considering Jesus' words, it must be possible for some women to realize and achieve the spiritual nature. While I am proposing a radical thesis here, I must admit that many undefined variables make every individual's struggle for completeness uniquely his/her own. And I think I have not entirely solved the gender questions yet, either. But, I believe that the eternal lessons are provided by God, our Teacher, through the earthly symbols, relationships, and historical events. We have the information available for our lessons, but God's truths are spiritually discerned, and we have a long way yet to go.
