The Kol Nidre

The Kol Nidre is a solemn ceremony in Judaic religious practice that has been an issue of controversy between the Jews and Christian nations for more than a thousand years.
  • Elizabeth Dilling discusses the Kol Nidre from a Christian point of view in her book, The Jewish Religion: Its Influence Today, on pages 4, 7, 19, 20, with reference to a page in the Talmud, cited in her Exhibit 171.
  • The ceremony, history, words, and music are described in the 1906 Jewish Encyclopedia in Vol. VII, page 359.
  • The Kol Nidre ceremony was the subject of the movie The Jazz Singer, starring Al Jolson, in which can be heard the melody of the Kol Nidre sung by a cantor.
